Structured junior competition ladders. Real competitive tennis experience. The aim is simple: to encourage our students to play tennis more often, spend more time on court with friends, and put the skills they learn in coaching into practice.
Futures Tennis Academy’s Friday Night Competition is one of the most popular junior programs at East Malvern Tennis Club. Held weekly throughout the term, the program provides a fun, social and fully supervised introduction to match play for players of all standards, from Hot Shots beginners through to experienced teenage competitors.
Friday Night Competition is offered at a reduced rate exclusively to players enrolled in one or more Futures Tennis Academy lessons. The aim is simple: to encourage our students to play tennis more often, spend more time on court with friends, and put the skills they learn in coaching into practice.
Competition is an important part of player development. Our coaching philosophy encourages players to serve, rally and score from the early stages of learning, helping them develop confidence, independence, match awareness and a genuine love of the game. By combining regular coaching with weekly competition, players gain an additional development opportunity in a supportive environment where the focus remains on participation, improvement and enjoyment.
All matches are supervised by Futures Tennis Academy coaches, who assist players with scoring, court positioning, match etiquette and learning how to compete independently. Each season concludes with our popular End of Term Pizza Party & Trophy Presentation, celebrating participation, improvement and another great term of tennis.
