Tennis Australia Trainee Qualified Coach

Max Chisholm brings a strong junior playing background and a long-standing connection with Futures Tennis Academy to his role as a Tennis Australia Trainee Coach.
A former Futures Tennis Academy player, Max spent many years developing his game under the guidance of Futures Tennis Academy Director Wes Horskins. Growing up within the academy environment provided Max with a strong technical foundation and an understanding of the development pathway that Futures aims to provide for its junior players.
As a talented junior, Max was selected to participate in Tennis Australia’s Super 10s program for three consecutive years. Super 10s brings together some of the leading young players in the state, providing them with an early introduction to high-level training and competitive match play. In his final year in the program, Max finished as the No. 1 player, highlighting the strength of his junior development.
Max also competed extensively in Tennis Victoria Junior Pennant and enjoyed significant team success. He was part of a team that finished runner-up in 2015 before winning the competition in 2016.
Having experienced the Futures Tennis Academy pathway first-hand as a player, Max has since transitioned into coaching through his genuine love of tennis and desire to pass on the knowledge and experiences he gained throughout his own development.
His background allows him to relate particularly well to developing junior players. Having progressed through structured coaching, representative programs and competition himself, Max understands both the challenges and enjoyment that come with learning the game and progressing through junior tennis.
Max is continuing to develop his experience working across Futures Tennis Academy programs. He works alongside the academy’s experienced coaching team, continuing to build his technical knowledge, session delivery and understanding of long-term player development.
Away from tennis, Max is currently studying Business, complementing his development as a coach with further skills in communication, organisation and management.
As a player who has progressed through Futures Tennis Academy and now moved into coaching, Max represents an important part of the academy’s philosophy of developing not only the next generation of players, but also young coaches with a genuine connection to the game.
