About

Duncan Sillato is an experienced High Performance Coach and coach leader with an extensive background in talent development, performance program design and the development of competitive athletes.

Throughout his coaching career, Duncan has worked with players progressing from high-level junior competition through to ITF and professional pathways. He currently leads performance programs for athletes competing across local and national junior tournaments, Australian Money Tournaments, ITF Junior events and U.S. college recruitment pathways.

Duncan has previously held Head Coach positions at East Burwood Tennis Club, Mount Waverley Tennis Club and Notting Hill Pinewood Tennis Club, giving him extensive experience in both player development and the leadership of large-scale coaching programs.

Players developed under Duncan’s guidance have qualified for National Age Championships, won national and state-level titles, achieved success on the ITF Junior Circuit, earned ATP world-ranking points and secured multiple U.S. college tennis scholarships. During his time at Notting Hill Pinewood Tennis Club, Duncan managed a team of 10 coaches and delivered performance programs to more than 60 athletes each week, with players achieving numerous junior and senior tournament victories, U.S. college scholarships and a National Under-14 title.

Duncan has also worked within the Kooyong International Tennis Academy, where he was involved in the development of elite athletes supported by the Kooyong Foundation and competing across junior, senior, ITF Junior and ITF Futures competition. He also assisted in developing progressive performance squad structures designed to provide players with a clear pathway through the different stages of competitive tennis.

His coaching philosophy centres on performance enhancement and long-term player development. Duncan places a strong emphasis on biomechanics and technical fundamentals while integrating tactical development, match strategy, periodisation, tournament planning and sports psychology into his programs.

Beyond his work with players, Duncan has a strong passion for coach education and leadership. He has extensive experience mentoring coaches, developing coaching structures and creating environments where both players and coaches are challenged to continually improve.

Duncan holds Tennis Australia High Performance Coach, Club Professional Coach, Talent Development Coach and Junior Development Coach qualifications, providing him with one of the most comprehensive coaching qualification backgrounds within the Futures Tennis Academy team.

He also holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Management from the University of Malta, bringing additional experience in leadership, management and program development to his role.

With decades of experience across performance coaching, talent identification, coach leadership and competitive player development, Duncan plays an important role in shaping the Futures Tennis Academy performance pathway and supporting the academy’s next generation of competitive players.
