Angus Cameron

Angus brings a strong junior playing background, extensive coaching experience and proven leadership qualities to Futures Tennis Academy.

Having started playing tennis at the age of six, Angus progressed through the competitive junior pathway in the Northern Territory and was selected as a member of the Northern Territory State Squad. His junior career included representing the Northern Territory in the Bruce Cup, as well as competing in the Foundation Cup.

These experiences provided Angus with exposure to representative tennis from a young age and helped develop a strong understanding of the training, discipline and competitive environment required for junior players looking to progress their game.

Throughout his development as both a player and coach, Angus has spent many years working alongside and learning from experienced high-level coaches. This has helped shape a coaching approach built around strong technical foundations, structured player development and creating an environment where players are encouraged to continually improve.

Angus has developed into a highly valued leader within Futures Tennis Academy and is currently the Head Coach at East Burwood Tennis Club, one of the academy’s major venues. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the delivery of coaching programs, supporting and mentoring coaching staff and helping ensure a consistently high standard across the venue.

His strong leadership and managerial qualities allow him to work effectively with players, parents and coaches while supporting the continued development and growth of the East Burwood program.

On court, Angus brings an enthusiastic and structured approach to coaching and enjoys working with players across a broad range of ages and abilities. His background in representative junior tennis gives him a particularly strong understanding of developing young players and helping them build the technical, tactical and competitive foundations required to progress through the Futures Tennis Academy pathway.
