Hot Shots Program
What is Tennis Hot Shots?
Tennis "Hot Shots" is Tennis Australia’s exciting new grassroots competition program that was launched on the Margaret Court Arena during the 2008 Australian Open when a few select and lucky academies [we were one of them!] were chosen to present to the spectators an exhibition of the Hot Shots Comp. Tennis Hot Shots is a modified comp which uses low compression balls, smaller nets and courts which makes the game easier and more fun to play. There is no strict format for matches and each week the format changes making it a non- threatening environment for first time players. There are no ladders or individual winners or losers, often macthes are played as a team.
Tennis is under constant pressure from all sports for junior participants. Competition is fierce especially from grassroots programs in sports such as AFL, soccer, netball, cricket, rugby and rugby league. Hot Shots seeks to match and better other national grassroots programs while still offering the freedom and flexibility to the coaches.
Tennis Hot Shots is an on-court modified competition aimed at junior development directed at 6-12 year olds who are either participating, or potentially participating, in tennis coaching or club activities. Thus giving children across Australia a chance to get involved in the ‘Game of Life’ – Tennis.
To enrol in our modified Hot Shots Competition please email or call us. Comp is held on Saturday morning from 9-9.45am at Ardrie Park Tennis Club for 6-8 year olds and 9-11 year olds and follows a normal 8 week school term. Fee is $75.00 per player [inc gst] which includes a Hot Shots pack full of goodies. [You do not have to attend Futures Tennis coaching to play in Hot Shots Comp. ]
