Futures “Developmental Pathways”
Futures “Developmental Pathways Flow Chart” is designed to inform, direct and fast track your knowledge of the many options available to further enhance your development. We want you to know our academy offers direction and a structure to take you “all the way” in reaching your full potential.
Futures strongly recommend all pupils enrol in coaching and competition as soon as possible as both programs justify and compliment each other. We believe to do one, without the other, is to do just half the job! That is, pupils commence coaching to gain the technical and tactical skills to be able to participate in a game of competition and as pupils play the game through competition they become more motivated to want to learn to improve through coaching. Tennis is a unique sport in terms of the skill level necessary to be able to play competition. Therefore, for juniors we have modified the rules and adapted the equipment to allow just about any player, no matter how young or inexperienced, to play the game of tennis in our Internal Friday Night Junior Competition at EMTC. We want to give all players the chance to play our wonderful lifetime game as soon as possible. Adults may just like to play in one of the many social comp clubs provide as a starting point. As both juniors and adult progress we strongly suggest they join their club and play competition through external comps.
The Futures Pathways Flow Chart describes for kids the four sequential stages in their development: 1] Little Legends Program 2] Junior Program 3] Squads Program and 4] Elite Squads Programs describing both the coaching and competitions components for each stage. Many pupils also decide to do additional programs, for example, Practise Squads; Remedial Private Classes; Holiday Clinics etc apart from just coaching and competition. The choice is yours!
