History and Structure

Futures Tennis Academy Pty Ltd [FTA] commenced in 1992 after Wes Horskins returned from playing the ATP world circuit for six years and coaching for two years at the prestigious Aquarius Tennis Centre on the Costa Del Sol in Spain. After completing the TCAV Advanced Coaching Course Wes worked for two years as a self employed coach at numerous clubs in inner Melbourne until acquiring larger venues which now form the basis of FTA. Wes’ role has now been to over-see the coaches who work for FTA and to guarantee a quality of coaching second to none. Wes was recognized for his coaching when in 1998 he was awarded from Tennis Coaches of Australia a plaque for outstanding services to tennis coaching in Australia. Futures Tennis Academy has coached literally thousand of pupils to enjoy the game of a lifetime.

FTA has a full time manager and also has a part time administrator, bookkeeper and ten full time contracted coaches. All coaches are Tennis Australia Qualified, some having run their own businesses, while others are from interstate and over-seas. FTA coaches attend regular Tennis Australia Professional Development seminars to update knowledge of the latest teaching techniques and coaching philosophies.

Mission Statement & Company Philosophy

The Director has adopted the policy of supplying the highest quality of service at recommended TACM prices in all areas of the industry. The quality and reliability of the Company's reputation is the concern of every person in the organization and not sole responsibility of the Director. Therefore, it is an important requirement of this policy to employ only suitably trained and qualified staff and to continually advance coach education so that FTA continues to stay at the "cutting edge" of quality service.

FTA believes in the philosophy of the widest possible participation and does not intrinsically focus, or favor, elitism. The Company is committed to being innovative in offering and designing the widest possible variety of programs and not to discriminate against other cultures, disadvantaged or minority groups.

Furthermore, FTA believes tennis to be the most equitable, challenging and greatest participation sport in the world and promises to promote and foster tennis at every opportunity.
